The City of Port Washington apporves bathroom plans. Construction expected to begin this summer. This state-of-the-art, accessible bathroom project will be constructed near the entrance of the playground and include both a men’s and a women’s accessible bathroom, and will feature a family bathroom designed to meet the needs for children children with disabilities, including a six-foot changing table, a handicap accessible toilet, sink and an additional utility sink. A covered picnic area will also be included. The city will be contributing to the cost of the project and Friends of Possibility Playgaround will be raising rest of the estimated cost of $150,000 to $180,000.

The Playground Volunteers Built
Hundreds of people stood in Port
Washington’s Upper Lake Park Sunday
stunned by the finished product but even
more amazed by the phenomenon
they had witnessed. Volunteers
an average of 500 a day
shoveled dirt, drilled holes, sawed
boards, pounded nails and sanded
corners 12 hours a day for six days
until Possibility Playground
